Braden Costas '23 Recruiting Profile

Thank you for taking the time to review my profile.  I am a highly motivated athlete and student with leadership skills.  I have been playing soccer since age 4.  I started playing club soccer at age 9 and continue to play for CFC throughout high school.  I was grateful to have the opportunity to play soccer in London with CFC when I was 12 years old.  I am a dedicated player with soccer being a big part of my life.  Soccer is not just a sport to me.  It has taught me many life lessons that I use everyday.

I feel I have a lot to add to a college roster.  This is what college coaches have said about my skills after my video evaluation:

• Athleticism: Very athletic, great size and speed combo
• Mobility: Covers a lot of pitch defensively, loves to make a run forward, shifts hips quickly in 1v1 situations
• Range of Passing: Finds difficult passes well, direct player
• Technical Speed: Settles ball quickly in order to make next decision
• Tackling/Defending: Great slide tackle technique, many successful last ditch challenges
• Attacking Play: Great set piece option with size and athletic ability

I have played outside back for my club team for the first 6 years.  I play more center back now that I am bigger and stronger.  I enjoy playing either position.  This past season, as a junior, I was the starting center back on my high school soccer team.  Our varsity team only gave up 2 goals in the Massachusetts State Cup Tournament only to lose in the semi-final round on penalty kicks after a 0-0 tie in regulation.

I feel I have great vision of what’s going on around me on the field.  I have an accurate first touch because I know where I'm going with the ball before I get it.  I am an aggressive, fast and physical player who likes making runs on the outside when opportunities open up.  I love being part of a team including all the bonds and friendships that are created with my teammates.  I would love the opportunity to be a part of your team.

As a student, I apply myself and work hard to maintain my grades while staying busy outside of the classroom.  I am an honor student currently with a 4.0 GPA (weighted).  I am part of my high schools history and stock clubs.  I am as passionate about my education as I am of soccer.  I am excited about beginning my career path once I attend college.
