Lukas McGuire '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Lukas McGuire.  I have a deep passion for soccer and have a strong commitment to pursue a college education while continuing to excel in the sport that I love at the highest possible collegiate level.  Soccer has been an integral part of my life since I first kicked a ball as a young child.  It has provided me confidence, allowed me to build relationships with coaches and teammates and has been a focus of many bonding moments with my parents and extended family.  Over the years, I have not only fine-tuned my technical skills, but I have also developed a strong work ethic, discipline, and teamwork.  These traits have not only contributed to my success on the soccer field but have also shaped my character and determination off the field.

I am a creative & versatile midfielder that prides myself on my field vision and play making abilities as an important link between our defense and attacking players.  I primarily play in the central midfield as a CAM or CDM on my club and high school teams, but I have the versatility and experience to play out in a wide midfield position as well.  My coaches would state that I am very coachable, respectful and a dedicated team player that gives 110% effort at practice and games.  I am a team first soccer player who looks to make the right passes to put my teammates in the most successful positions on the field.  I am a quick learner who likes to watch and break down available game film to see how I can improve from game to game.  I love watching the Premier League & MLS games as a fan and as a student of the game.  I work hard year-round to continue developing my skills on the field as well as off the field by going to the gym to improve my strength, agility & speed. 

In the classroom, I have strived to maintain good grades, recognizing the importance of balancing my athletic goals with my commitment to learning.  I believe that academic success is essential to becoming a well-rounded individual and a valuable team member.  My superior work ethic and strong desire to be successful defines me both on and off the pitch.  I look forward to the next step in my journey to pursue my dreams and make my parents proud.
