Personal Statement

My name is Oscar Boyle and I am a striker #9 graduating in 2025 from Northfield Mount Hermon where I play Varsity Soccer. I wish to play soccer at a competitive programme at an academically challenging institution where I plan to major in History or English (SAT EWR = 770/800 (99+%) ).

I have played multiple Varsity and club sports during high school including soccer, lacrosse, track, futsal, Gaelic football and basketball. I played club soccer in Dublin, Ireland for St. Kevin’s Boys, one of the top schoolboy clubs in Europe, and spent time at professional club academies playing with my age group at Southampton, West Ham, Juventus, Sheffield Wednesday and Porto.

Some highlights of my soccer career include NMH's undefeated NEPSAC regular season in 2023, All Ireland soccer finals, the Ontario SAAC championship, and my selection as MVP and being the leading scorer for the Selwyn House School Varsity team in Grade 10.

Among my best skills as a striker are my speed, tracking back and work rate, tactical understanding, two footed ability, instinctual in the box poaching, facilitating third man runs and my determined, competitive nature.

Grit is a characteristic I pride myself on - winning the Grit Award at my summer canoe camp Keewaydin and getting a perfect score on the National Latin Exam. Also, I am a part time DJ on Radio WNMH - HOGGER RADIO !
