Personal Statement

I am a rising senior at Stoughton High School in Stoughton, Massachusetts. My soccer roots stem back to growing up in Asuncion, Paraguay since I was 3 years old where I played varsity soccer for my private, American-accredited school, the American School of Asuncion, beginning in the 8th grade. I moved back to the United States in my Junior year and made Stoughton High's varsity team, where I am now co-captain for Senior year.

Stoughton High's 4 consecutive year appearances in the state tournament (2013-2016) sparked high expectations for the 2018 season. Failing to make the tournament for the second year in a row caused lots of heads to drop in disappointment throughout the team. With the help of my co-captains and our new coach this year, I am committed to turning around these past years of tournament drought. As a two sport athlete, I understand how morale, talent, teamwork and perseverance make the difference when facing adversity during the season.

I am in search of a rigorous academic program to match my high level of academic commitment and a competitive athletic program to coincide with my athletic skills. As someone who lived abroad for most of his life, I believe I can add value to any college program with my leadership, academic, and athletic abilities.
