Romas Mitrius '22 Recruiting Profile

Ever since I started playing soccer at the age of 5, I’ve been focusing on taking myself and my team to the next level. Whether it was a parks and recreation team from when I was little, a 3v3 team, my club or high school team, my mind was always set on winning, and winning is what I strive for, each and every day. I always exemplify excellence both on the field and in the classroom. I currently have a 4.3 GPA with an all honors and AP schedule, and I am on track to be the valedictorian of Brother Rice. On every level I play on, I am always the leading scorer on my team, and I plan on taking these qualities on to the collegiate level.

As I had already mentioned, I am a goal scorer. I always have been with my club teams and my high school team. I use my height, strength, speed and athleticism to my advantage when finding ways to score against opponents. Freshman year when I played for my high school JV A team, I scored a record breaking 20 goals and 6 assists. Although this previous season was very unusual with all the cancelled games and COVID, when we did play, often times I had to step up and take control, scoring game winners and goals against school rivals, and became the top goal scorer on the team.

I am also committed to the teams I am a part of. When I first started playing for my club team five years ago, we weren’t even ranked. However, I kept working on and off the field and stayed with my club team, and before lockdown, we were the 12th ranked team in our age group in the state of Michigan, according to GotSoccer.

Lastly, I am a very coachable player. I am always looking for ways to help myself and my team improve. I will take advice given to me if that will help myself and my team reach the next level. I listen to coaches and always execute their game plan, and I will play hard, work hard, and have a positive mental attitude, each and every day.
