Cavan Burpee '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi I’m Cavan Burpee,

5’7 140lbs., 5:41 Mile, 4.82 40 yd. Bench press 155lb. Deadlift  185lb. 

I attend Milford High School, Milford MI. I am a 2023 graduate. I'm a captain and I have been on varsity all four years in high school and was nominated for all-conference my sophomore year. I am a recipient of the LVC (Lakes Valley Conference) Scholar-Athlete award and have been on the Honor Roll throughout my career in high school. 

For club soccer, I have played with the Michigan Jags program for 13 years. What I offer to any team is good leadership, quality ball control, good shooting,  passing, and awareness. Defensively I’m good at tracking back to my position to win the ball back, knowing when to pressure or cover, and communicating with my teammates. My overall goal is to play professional soccer, but first in order to do that is to get all the college experience I can. I would like to play as much available playing time as there is offered in order to increase my skill level as a player and have an impact on a team. 

My dream college to attend would be Lawerence Tech University, they have one of the top soccer programs in the country, and have produced great professional athletes. Academically I want to pursue Sports management/broadcasting /Communication. Or Business Marketing/Managing. A smaller school that I would like to attend is Lawrence Technological University because they have a strong soccer team and are within minutes of Detroit where I could work in my field of study. My other top choice is WMU (Western Michigan University) as they have a larger student population, academic studies I am interested in, and a solid soccer program.  I’m looking to attend a school that is urban-suburban, so a bigger type of school, preferably a D1 or D2 school, but I am open to different types of schools and programs, where I can get the most playing time possible in a more densely populated area. My parents are willing to help pay for my education, and I will take loans, but scholarships are very helpful.
