I started playing the game of soccer when I was about four years old, and from there it has become a passion of mine. The older I get the more I fall in love with soccer. Through soccer, I’ve learned a lot about myself and the type of person I am. I have learned that I have a strong ability to lead and that I am a player my teammates want to play with. Besides soccer, I am efficient in the classroom as I have over a 4.0 GPA and I hope to keep it that way throughout the rest of my High School career and into college. I will be just as excited to be in a college classroom as on a college pitch.
I feel that I can play a variety of different positions, which makes me a versatile player, compared to someone who strictly plays one position. Typically I play as an attacking midfielder or an outside midfielder. As an attacking midfielder, I have the ability to find my teammates’ feet and possess, or beat someone 1 v 1 and create for myself. I am right footed;however, my left foot is just as effective, which makes me hard to defend. When I’m playing as an outside winger or midfielder, I think I become a very dangerous player with my ability to get the end line by beating someone, or combining with other players and getting behind the defense. The last thing that I think makes me a player who coaches want on their team is my leadership skills. When on the field, I talk throughout the whole game and am always trying to make my teammates around me better as well as myself. I am someone my teammates look up to on the field. Overall, I am looking for a college program that will help me excel athletically, but more importantly academically. It has been a dream of mine for the past few years to play collegiate soccer and I am hoping that dream will come true in the next few years. I think that between my ability to play soccer, my work ethic in the classroom and on the field, and my leadership skills I can be an effective player right away in a college soccer program.
Aside from being on the field, I am apart of the National Honor Society, I am in a community service club at my school called Excel and I enjoy playing lots of other sports in my free time. Being in NHS and Excel allows me to do numerous community service projects, and put in lots of hours giving back to the people around me.
