I started playing soccer at 4 years old, and out of all the sports I have played soccer is the one I’ve loved the most, and I have gained many new friendships through soccer. Also, I have worked on my overall athleticism through track and field and lifting in the weight room. It has been my goal for a long time to play soccer at the collegiate level and possibly beyond. I know that soccer will always be an important part of my life.
I am a hardworking and dedicated player. I have strong vision and passing, can use both feet effectively, am mentally tough, and have a high soccer IQ. I think my greatest strength is helping the other players around me shine, I always try to help my teammates succeed. I’m constantly trying to improve my skills and I have moved up a division for 4 consecutive years and am now on the highest level team at my club. I work all year round on my skills, including playing Futsal in the winter season. I recently played in the U.S. Youth Futsal National Championship.
In the classroom, I like to challenge myself and get the best grades I can. I have been on honor roll throughout high school and will be taking 4 AP/IB classes in my junior year, and plan to take some college classes in my senior year. I am interested in business and marketing and want to find a college that will challenge me academically. Outside of school, I like to give back to the community. I have volunteer coached a U9 soccer team for the past two years, I actively participate in my school’s recycling club and I work in a childcare program at a local recreation center.
Soccer, school, volunteering, and work have brought me many great experiences and taught me many valuable lessons on and off the field. Like the importance of working within a team, being self-motivated, and taking on new challenges. I have also learned that a great way to improve is to ask for feedback from teachers, supervisors, and coaches. I hope to find a college where I can grow as a player and a person, and find the best academic and athletic fit.
