At the end of my sophomore year our team lost our keeper to graduation. I recognized that someone was going to need to step up and take his place. I had never played goalie before in a game but I knew this was a way I could help out our team. So over the summer I got some gloves and practiced every day. I focused on the goal of filling the job of goalie and being able to help our team in anyway I could. That work paid off! I was able to make a game winning save to send my team to state. It was the best time I've fully shown the skills I gained in the season before.
When the actual season started I began as the J.V. back up, but by half way through I had taken the Varsity spot and kept it.
After gaining the title I continued to grow. Improving my skills as a keeper and a leader. I keep working and gaining new skills as well as further developing my old ones.
