The main goal I have since I was a young child was to play soccer at the maximum level, pro soccer. Since the day I placed my mindset into achieving such a goal, I started developing my skills and assets to become a better player. My main position is as a goalkeeper and has been since I was 5 years old, so its nothing I new to me, I've had years and years of training centred in the goalkeeper position. I would be a good candidate as I know how to stay mentally focus on big games, I'm good at listening and acknowledge when I'm not doing something right, and I have a dedicated mindset that when I focus on a certain objective, I work to reach it. This continuous work on my primary position has opened many doors of what I'm capable of doing and showed me I have the level to reach my goal. I was selected by my home country's national team, El Salvador National Team U-17, to take part in the World Cup qualifiers that took place in 2019. This indicated that I was on a good path to achieving my aim, but some work was still to be done. Also, this year I was awarded a scholarship to Principia Upper School here in the US due to the soccer level I showed in my academy back home. I was seen as one of the leaders of the team just weeks into training. What makes me different is that I'm always open to learning, change and trying new stuff. Just like accepting the scholarship, leaving behind my comfort zone, and start being independent. My best way of learning is through first watching and then performing, so I'm aware to a certain degree, about the roles each position plays in the field. This year when the coach needed aid in the field, I volunteered myself to help. He mainly played me as a playmaker midfielder (I got 1 assist and 2 goals in 4 matches here), and sometimes he moved me back to defence to consolidate that area further. I'm really eager to play at a high-intensity soccer level and I'm sure I'll put my whole effort into making it work.
