Hello, my name is Braeden Stevens and I am in my junior year at Hamilton High School in Hamilton, MT. I am looking towards graduating in 2023 and seriously looking into my opportunities for going to college where I can combine both my academic and soccer passions. My goal has always been to play soccer in college and beyond. Just as important, I want to have a well-rounded education.
Since the age of 4, I have been playing soccer. But just because I have been playing for 12+ years, I continuously push myself to improve my soccer skill sets – from increasing speed and agility, to improving my vertical jump. I consider the greatest aspect of my game to be my ability to evaluate the field of play, my team and opposition, and put myself in a position to win balls. I predominately play in the forward position but can play winger, central attacking mid-fielder as well. During the 2021 fall soccer season, I started every game for the Hamilton High School Varsity Boys Soccer team and received the 1st Team All-State and 1st Team All-Conference award for the Montana Southern "A" Conference.
I have played competitive club soccer for 6+ years, participating in indoor training and college camps. Prior to club soccer, I played in recreational leagues from age 5 to 10. When not playing soccer, I enjoy volunteering with my local youth soccer clubs and refereeing matches when I can. When not in school, playing soccer, at work, or helping out with soccer, I enjoy hunting, fishing, and working out. Family time is really important to me and having younger siblings, I consider myself to be a role model for them.
I have learned many things about myself through playing soccer. Many people consider me to be short, as I currently am 5’5” and 120lbs, but I have learned that size doesn’t matter – playing smart, taking care of yourself, always being willing to learn new things and be coach-able, and developing leadership skills is important.
My academic goals for high school are to maintain, if not improve, my GPA and take advantage of all elective opportunities I can. I hope to take advanced placement courses and join a club. For college, my goals are to gain as much knowledge and experience as I can and establish a well-rounded foundation for pursuing my professional and personal goals after college. I want to continue to grow in my soccer career and take it to the next level but also explore a major in sports management.
Thank you for taking the time to view my profile and I look forward to connecting with you.
