My parents tell me that my first real word was “ball”. I fell in love with soccer at a young age and have been playing the game seriously since I was 6. When I was considering whether or not I wanted to play in college, I tried to imagine my last soccer game ever being in high school. The thought scared me and showed that I was not ready to simply let go of soccer with my high school graduation. It proved to me that I must play soccer in college because the game is just too important to me. What separates me from other players is my deeply rooted attachment to the game as well as my academic well-roundedness and achievement. I have been maintaining a high GPA throughout high school and I challenge myself in academics as well as in the game. I challenge myself in academics by intentionally taking classes that I know I am weak in such as history and English, and I challenge myself in the game in a similar way, by intentionally using my weak foot and trying new things that I know will be difficult to pull off.
