My name is Silas Dellaperute. I grew up in Little Egg Harbor, NJ. My father is a pastor and my mother is a pastry chef. Together, they taught me the value of commitment and hard work. I am the youngest of four boys. Growing up, I developed a love for soccer because of my dad and my brothers. Even before I was old enough to join a club team, my family would play soccer for hours just because of our love for the game. I started playing organized soccer at the age of 6, and over the past 11 years I have played for clubs, academies, schools, and pick-up leagues. Now, as a junior in high school, I have a real passion for the game, along with a strong desire to continue to play at the collegiate level.
God, family, and soccer are all major factors in my life. Ever since junior high, I have devoted one week per year to a mission trip where I can use my skills as a soccer player to engage with others. I have learned that soccer is an international language, and as a result, I have been able to use it to connect with people from various cultures. This has helped me develop as a leader on my school and academy team. My family has always encouraged me to work hard, so I am committed to constantly improving the physical, mental, and tactical elements of my game. Finally, I strive to lead by unselfish example, and regardless of whether it is practice, a friendly, or finals, whenever I play, I do it wholeheartedly for the Lord.
