Luke Geleta '20 Recruiting Profile

    The best memories of my life so far are always connected with soccer. Being invited to play in an Open Cup soccer tournament in Madrid, Spain with NYCFC Academy team was one of the highlights of my soccer career.  However, being a starter on my soccer teams and share the accomplishments such as winning State Cup three times is unforgettable. Being exposed to high-level soccer at a fairly young age made me realize that talent and hard work is not enough to become an elite player. It is my drive, my discipline, and determination that will help me to accomplish my dream- to PLAY soccer in college.  In addition to playing soccer for US Academy team, I am also a varsity wrestler on my high school team. As an athlete, I am very agile and have very high stamina. When others can't run anymore, I keep going and encourage others to do the same. Wrestling keeps me in shape and gives me the advantage of being able to handle physical opponents in soccer fairly easily. In school, I manage my challenging course load quite successfully.  I care about my grades and hold myself to high standards. I certainly have the drive to become successful in anything I choose to do in my future.
