Happy New Year, Coaches!
Please consider my current times in light of my story.
Last Spring was my first season competing as a high school track and field athlete. I had success in middle school, winning the county tournament for the 1600m my 8th-grade year, and planned to compete in winter and Spring track in High School. However, a growth spurt that started during the winter of my freshman year created injuries for me that prevented me from competing. After just a few short months of training this past Spring as a junior (and now 6'2"), I beat my initial time in the mile by about 37 seconds and my initial time in the 800 by about 20 seconds. Currently, I am enjoying my first year on Winter Track as a senior. I won my first 1600m race at the Drew Invitational last week and posted a 1:27s time today in my first competitive 600m race. There is nothing better than feeling good again. I am looking forward to having success in track and field in college and achieving what I know with consistent training I am capable of doing.
Thank you for your time,
Aidan Nevistich
