My name is Bryan Gaviria I am part of the 2022 graduating class, I am a striker and I live in New Jersey. Having a life-threatening surgery when I was very young helped me realize how lucky I was and I was meant to make a difference. As I spent my first year in a hospital I was already behind other kids. After a lot of physical therapy and OT (Occupational Therapy), I recognized that I had to work twice as hard to be able to get where I wanted to be. When I was 3 years old I first started to kick a ball around and instantly fell in love with the sport. As I started to grow up I knew what it was like to have obstacles in front of me and put in the work to overcome them. Playing soccer has helped me learn the values of commitment, teamwork, and sacrifices.
Playing for a high school team that does not have much experience in winning trophies made me strive to change that. Having the responsibility to make a difference was one that I liked. It put weight on my shoulders to make an impact and do whatever it took to achieve that goal. Winning the sectional tournament for the first time in school history has been the highlight of my high school season by far. As a student-athlete, I know that my responsibility off the field is just as important on the field. I am looking for a program that will fit me athletically as well as academically. I believe that I have the capabilities to make an immediate impact at the collegiate level with my talent, leadership skills, and strong work ethic.
