I love track and cross country because of how personally individual the sport is. I love the feeling of running around the track in a race, after training so long for that moment. Track as an individual sport measures improvement. On my bad running days, it is nice to look back and see how far I have gotten. Even though I am nervous before races, something about track shows me specifically where I can improve, whether it be my mindset or my pacing. Running encourages me to persevere both during runs and in all other areas of my life.
