Ryan Freda '20 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to have the privilege to play competitive soccer with like-minded student-athletes who share my passion for the sport, my strong work ethic, and my commitment to teammates of giving 100% to the team at all times.  I believe that playing sports builds character and the ability to persevere through challenges.  I believe that playing sports is an opportunity to lead by example and to respectfully and proudly represent your coaches and your school. 

As a player, I bring a lot of speed and intensity to the game and am a natural goal scorer.  I also take pride in my versatility, as I can play as a striker, in the middle as a center attacking midfielder, or out wide.  I am a student of the game with good vision on the field.  I have been a Varsity starter since freshman year and earned All-Conference Second Team both my freshman and sophomore years.  I was also voted one of the top freshman playing Varsity in New Jersey by NJ.com.

I take great pride in my character, integrity, and leadership skills both on and off the field. I have served as a team Captain since my sophomore year and was recently chosen to be a Student Ambassador for the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA). I am one of only 31 Student Ambassadors in the state.  I am also currently serving as the Vice President of the DECA Business Club.  In addition, I have over 130 hours of community service as an assistant coach, which gives me the opportunity to gain invaluable insight into mentoring and motivating athletes.  My cumulative weighted GPA is 4.5 out of 5.0 and my class rank is 7 out of 201. I look forward to pursuing a career where I can utilize my experience and skills to positively impact the sports industry in some way.  This could be working directly with athletes or working in the business side of the sports industry.
