2019 HighlightsPersonal Statement
I am an extremely focused and determined individual with clear academic goals and soccer ambition. My academic and athletic accomplishments bear testament to this.
Having played for the Under-16 Boys team at FC Barcelona Escola, Lagos, Nigeria (2016-2017) and undergone intense soccer training in London (Winter 2018) and IMG Academy (Summer 2018), I adapt quickly to different styles of play. Whether training or in match situations, I maintain a high intensity from start to finish.
I use my creativity, speed and technical ability to get past players, create goal-scoring opportunities for my team and shoot towards goal. Further, I enjoy taking players on using my dribbling skills.
Although a natural right-footer, I pass and shoot well with my left foot and continually strive to improve all areas of my game. During matches, I keep my opponents guessing, open up the field for my teammates and increase my chances of scoring by executing well-timed lateral runs.
Presently a college junior at Hofstra University majoring in journalism and minoring in French, I have a 3.88 GPA and am fluent in English, French, and Spanish. I believe I can use my multilingual skills to be a bridge-builder on the team. My goal is to become an ethically minded journalist and play professional soccer in the United States or Europe at the highest level.
