Robert LaMond '25 Recruiting Profile

I go by Bobby and grew up with a soccer ball at my feet.   I started playing soccer at the age of 5 and my love for the game has grown ever since; whether on or off the pitch, I live for the beautiful game.  I am a versatile player who enjoys a challenge.  My primary strength is soccer IQ; adapting to real time game scenarios and bringing up the level of play of my teammates.  I am comfortable in a variety of positions and tend to play on the left side, as I’m left footed.  My best position is left midfield and have enjoyed the challenge of playing the four as well.   I’m a good defender and I’m not afraid to put in a hard tackle.   I am a strong passer and dribbler, and I have a solid shot on goal. 

I have been a starter on my high school team for the past two years and I have helped lead my team to two state championship appearances.  I am a very competitive player and I always give 110% on the field and try to lead by example.  I’m a starter for our club team Highlands Football Club here in NC and compete at the premier level of NCYSA, attend state cups and appear regularly at college showcases.  

In addition to my soccer skills, I thrive in the classroom.  I have a passion for learning and am fortunate to have a strong academic experience with opportunities to take several honors and AP classes at Veritas, which has a strong humanities curriculum.   I have an interest in business administration and pre-med and continue to look toward opportunities to develop my interest in these areas.  I am a regular on the A honor roll and am most proud of being named the ‘most outstanding‘ award during my sophomore year.
