1-15-2020 update: I continue to train in the gym and on the field. I have been playing pickup in adult games with a Mexican group and have gotten stronger and can move adults around with ease. My dribbling has improved as pick up games have really allowed me to work on attacking. I have also gotten a lot better at one v one defending too. I am playing the best soccer of my life and am in love with the game. I am getting better every day. My club begins soon and I would still love to play in college. I am playing 3 times a week and sometimes for 5 hours and I train with my weight and agility trainer 3 times a week. I surf to clear my mind. The waves have been fantastic and it has been warm. My time is running out because I will soon have to choose a University to attend. I have been accepted to 2 great schools and waiting to hear from 3 others. Please let me know if you have any questions for me.
11-16-2019 update: My HS State Playoffs came to an end Wednesday night as we lost. I played for New Hanover HS (Wilmington NC). My coach was TJ Rennie, son of Coach John Rennie of Duke Soccer. We lost in the 3rd round. Reality is setting in that many things are coming to an end and I am looking for a new beginning. I really want to continue my soccer career. I am a young 17 years old. I do not turn 18 until July. I am getting stronger and better every time I step on the field or in the gym. I am over 6' tall and weigh 165. I am playing the best I have ever played and if a coach can give me a chance and continue to develop me, I know I have a lot of upside potential. I am far from my peak. Please give me a consideration. I am in love with this sport.
I grew up as a small scrappy player that wanted the ball and did everything in my power to get the ball. Growing up being the smallest player on the field, I had to do extra training off the field to be competitive such as weight training, working with a personal trainer, and extra foot skills training. I have now gone through a few growth spurts, and I am one of the biggest players on the field, but I still play like the small scrappy player I am at heart. I am finally seeing all my hard work starting to pay off. Through this game, I have learned that I have a lot of grit, and I can push through any barrier put in front of me. I have also learned that I love to push myself to make myself better as a person and as a player. I am very versatile and can play just about anywhere I am needed. I embrace competition and thrive on pushing myself and my teammates to meet our goals.
I am currently on the Varsity New Hanover soccer team. I am the starting center defensive mid. I also compete in classic/travel soccer. I have played travel ball since I was 9 years old. I will be playing for OCSA this Spring and expect to play in midfield and Center Back. I also referee classic and recreation soccer which has given me a further understanding and appreciation of the game.
I am a young Sr. I turn 18 in July. I am getting better and stronger every time I step on the field or in the gym. I am over 6' tall and weigh 165 pounds.
I have gotten to where I am now through keeping my focus, setting goals, working through challenges, and having passion for the game of soccer. I have learned a lot about myself through this game and thrive on competition and being part of a team.
I am at my best when my teammates and coaches are like family on and off the field. We may have our differences, however; we are always there for each other when we are needed. I want a coach that is willing and able to share his/her vision with me so that I can perform my best for the team. I do the best with coaches that that are structured, run hard practices, and get right to the point. I look forward to the challenge of playing college ball and furthering my skills and the art of soccer.
