I've played soccer for many years. I started when I was 4 and always played it. I was always a defensive back until my 5th-grade year where I switched to play goalkeeping. I've played keeping ever since.
In my 7th grade year, I was backup, but I played for the 8th-grade team cause with the lack of players. When 8th grade came I was put on the A team as an alternative keeper. I played more keeping that year due to the other alternative keeper broke his hand. I really showed what I was capable of. Then my Freshman year I was put on JV Gold for Legacy. I was announced starting keeper and played all but one game that season. We came out strong for the first time for Legacy soccer with a 5-0-1 with only allowing 6 goals. We came to finish off the season (with no tournament) at 7-4-1 in standing in 3rd. I was benched for a Varsity Reserve match as well.
As a Sophomore, I did not make my goal as a Varsity backup as I was placed on JV Gold and I was a backup for the Varsity Reserve team as well. I was elected as a captain for the team as well as two others to lead the JV Gold team. Due to an injury to our Varsity Keeper, I had the chance to start on JV and played a very good game saving 14 times, but the opposition had very lucky goals giving away to a 4-0 loss. One big accomplishment to my season is I got to play on the Varsity team for the Crossover preseason matches which would give me a Varsity letter at the end of the season. I also played the last few minutes in our 6-1 loss to go to state. I felt I had a great season and I'm looking forward to Junior year as I will be backing up Varsity.
My Junior season was not as easy as last year for me. I did start on our Reserve team and was placed backup on Varsity. I had many ups and downs this season with 2 suspensions for team reasons. I did get a few chances to start on Varsity, but they were non-conference games. I really hope I can improve big time for my Senior season.
