McKayla Donat '23 Recruiting Profile

I started swimming when I was seven years old. My parents got me into the sport of swimming, but witnessing the impact made by teammates has influenced me to stay in swimming for as long as I have. Through swimming I found a dedication to getting better, and a passion for the sport. I would like to attend a college that can help me achieve my academic and athletic goals of being the best learner/athlete I can be. I would also love to be a part of a close knit group of athletes that always help each other get better.

The most memorable part of my swimming career so far would be placing second, and third at the high school state meet. Swimming hasn't always been full of great achievements though. When I was 12 I disqualified our 2nd place ranked relay at the state meet. That taught me to be more focused and it drove me to work harder than ever. I don't give up easily, and I certainly never back down from a challenge. My experiences I have gained from student council, and various other leadership positions, will help me to become a great leader on your team.
