Personal Statement

2022 | 2023 MLS Next Schedule *PENDING*

  • I am currently rostered with the Michigan Wolves U19 Development Academy for the 2022 | 2023 season; participating in the MLS Next league. I am a coachable student-athlete who is open and receptive to criticism and am a natural leader on and off the field. What sets me apart from other athletes is my dedication and desire to be a better player today than I was yesterday.

I value my education and make academics a top priority with a recorded 3.8 GPA at the completion of  my Junior year. As a Senior, I am enrolled at Terra State Community College taking college credit plus (CCP) classes and will continue this path through the Spring semester. With the support of my parents, I am looking for a college with an undergraduate program that best fits my academic needs, as well as a soccer program that will allow me to continue playing the game that I love.

Training four days a week limits my free time, but when I am able, I enjoy volunteering in my community and participating in events through nationally recognized programs such as Rotary’s LINK/Interact Club and National Honors Society. I enjoy being in the weight room and reffing youth soccer for our local rec league.

I am grateful to have been able to compete at the nation’s highest level of youth soccer and am excited to get our my Fall season underway!

  • Camp/Event
  • EXACT Sports Midwest Boys Academic 50 ID Camp
  • 7/29/21 to 7/31/21
  • Evaluated at Midwest Boys Academic 50 ID Camp on 07/29/2021 by Coach McMillan of Saint Mary's University of Minnesota Skillset Overview Technical Abilities - 95 / 100 Defending - Aggressive as a defender. Good footwork and positioning, and seems to enjoy the 1v1 battles. Ball Control - Quality first touch in space, and controls the ball under pressure. Tactical Abilities - 95 / 100 Reading The Game - Does well seeing the first level of pressure and making appropriate decision on the ball. Defensive Awareness - Understands team defensive schemes, shows understanding of positioning and angles. Physical Abilities - 95 / 100 Speed - Great speed overall, in particular when running into space. Will be an important asset going forward. Strength - Did a good job handling challenges and played well shoulder-to-shoulder. Mental Abilities - 89 / 100 Confidence - Great confidence, didn’t shy away when challenged at camp and played with a sense of urgency. Coachable - Responds well to coaching. Asked good questions and seemed to enjoy the learning process. Coach's Comments Braxton is a great competitor and plays with a lot of intensity. He is a highly technical player who is also a dominant athlete. He does really well in 1v1 defending and attacking situations which makes him a dynamic outside back and someone who I think could help a lot of college teams. I think your athleticism is a big strength and at the next level everyone is athletic, so making sure you are in the best shape possible will go a long way. If you work on moves and explode out of them it will create more opportunities for you to cross/shoot the ball which hopefully will lead to more goals/assists. As the level gets higher the more comfortable you need to be on the ball. Never forget the basics and little techniques in the game. They make the best players the best.

  • Player Name: Braxton Linder Coach Name: Ranalli Camp Evaluation Notes: “Braxton – really enjoyed working with you at camp. Your ability to combine through pressure and add width/threat on the overlap in the attack were phenomenal. Your 1v1 defending is strong and athleticism is top-notch. You have everything we look for in an outside back. With that said, continue to work to improve your final ball (service from wide, final pass slipped through the back-line, service from the end-line, etc.). If you can add a bit more consistency to this area of your game, you become much more dangerous as a fullback. You have plenty of time before you make the jump to the next level so continue to put yourself into challenging situations to ensure growth and development. Keep me posted on what your schedule looks like this coming fall, looking forward to seeing you play again soon.”

Rarely over or under hits the ball. Defending - Aggressive as a defender. Good footwork and positioning, and seems to enjoy the 1v1 battles. Tactical Abilities - 87 / 100 Reading The Game - Does well seeing the first level of pressure and making appropriate decision on the ball. Defensive Awareness - Understands team defensive schemes, shows understanding of positioning and angles. Physical Abilities - 89 / 100 Endurance - Great work rate throughout camp. Showed endurance that helped effectiveness, especially late. Vertical Leap - Showed a good vertical. Great job challenging for balls in the air. Mental Abilities - 89 / 100 Confidence - Great confidence, didn’t shy away when challenged at camp and played with a sense of urgency. Coachable - Responds well to coaching. Asked good questions and seemed to enjoy the learning process. Coach's Comments Braxton showed some impressing skills in this camp. His defending skills were outstanding, winning headers and 1v1 duels, making tackles, and organizing the defense. He communicated with his teammates, got involved in possession, and read the game very well. Being a 2023 grad, he has a lot of time to keep developing his game and become an successful college player
