Jonah Hara '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jonah Hara and I am a Freshman at Columbus Academy. I just completed my first season with my high school team. I was a varsity starting outside back, occasionally playing Center back due to injuries.  Our team had a record 16-4-5. We made a run in the tournament but unfortunately, we fell short in the state-semi final.  I play club soccer for SP Soccer Academy Elite U15. On my SP team, I am a starting center back. I have been with SP for around 4 years now.  I began club soccer in first grade, and have developed to be a strong player ever since I started. 

One of the biggest strengths I have is leadership. I try to coach my teammates in training, and in matches to try and develop them into better players.  Another strength I have is reading the game. I have great pace, and my tackling is exceptional. Although I stand at 5'4, this does not hold me back. Starting varsity outside back was my first real test of playing against kids that were much taller than me. Height did not seem to be a factor in my ability to succeed. I am a versatile player, and can sometimes play striker and use my pace at the end of games if our team is down a goal. 

I am a very hard worker on and off the pitch. On the pitch, I strive to make not only myself but everybody around me a better player.  Off the pitch, I try very hard to maintain good grades to help my chances of getting into more colleges.

Right now since I am still a freshman, I am looking for many options. I still have 3 years to decide where my future will take me. I know there are many opportunities but I am keeping an open mind to find the perfect match for me.
