I was introduced to multiple sports at a young age and while I’ve played everything from baseball, to basketball, and most recently football as a kicker for my HS team, it’s soccer that I love most! Being a multi-sport athlete has helped me stay strong and athletically fit as each sport provides skills that enhance my performance in the other. I am passionate about being the best goalkeeper and teammate possible and I look forward to pursuing an academic degree while also playing competitive soccer in college.
Though I've played soccer since I was 5 years old, I haven't always been a goalkeeper. I have played as both a forward and defender, so I have a great understanding of what's happening on the pitch from back to front. This helps me provide direction for my teammates and allows me to lead them in building play from the back. I'm consistently working to improve my game by attending as many goalkeeper specific trainings as possible and working with my club and HS coaches on drills that aim to improve my footwork, speed, and agility. I’ve also participated in ODP and was selected to the Regional Team. As much as possible in the coming year, I hope to attend college ID camps and reach out to coaches to familiarize myself with their programs and their specific needs for goalkeepers.
I haven't decided on a college major yet, but I currently have interest in physical therapy and sports and exercise science. I was a member of the National Junior Honor Society and was honored to be inducted into the National Honor Society this year. As often as I can, I enjoy volunteering in my community, especially with programs that involve youth mentorship. My goal in high school is to continue challenging myself with honors and accelerated coursework and to maintain a 3.5 or higher GPA as I know that will help me as I look for future academic and athletic opportunities. Thank you for taking the time to review my profile!
