I am Hayden Garland and I will graduate Johnstown Monroe High School in 2020 and currently have earned a 3.5 GPA. I love playing soccer and have been playing since I was four years old.
I've been playing on the varsity high school soccer team since I was a Freshman. This year, as a Junior, we finished as district finalist in the State Playoffs and I was awarded Honorable Mention from the Licking County League. I am currently in my 7th year of club soccer playing for Sporting Columbus 02 BPL (formerly known as the Columbus Crew SC).
I am 6 feet and 3 inches tall and use both feet well. This allows me to play both the left or right outside midfield position. I have the vision on the field to read how the play develops. I always make myself an option to help move the ball forward. I can take a defender on 1v1, lay the ball off or cross it to an attacking teammate.
While on the field, I try to help my team work together as a unit and less as a group of individual players. During practices I train hard and utilize my abilities to assist teammates, leading by example. Because of this, I was selected as a Team Captain for my club team this year.
I am interested in art and graphic design and would like a major in sales merchandising or architecture. My college goals are to earn a great education and playing soccer at the highest level possible.
