Like a lot of kids, I followed my older sibling to the soccer pitch. In fact, these are some of my earliest memories. I got to kick around with my sister and later on I got to train with her but the one thing I couldn’t wait for was to be on a team of my own so when I was 6 years old I finally got to play on a U8 club team. I loved getting to know the other kids on the team, I loved going to the trainings, and I especially loved playing games.
I love soccer. It’s my sport. I still love playing just as much as I did when I was a 6-years old so I don’t want playing for a team to end when my club soccer career ends and when I graduate high school. I want to continue playing and I want to play at the highest level possible so that’s why I’m an NCSA athlete.
I am constantly playing and training, mostly because I love this sport but also because I want to keep improving and developing with my goal being a collegiate athlete.
Not only am I playing and training with my club team, Barcelona Academy Columbus, but for the last five-years I’ve been training twice a week with James Field, former MLS Academy coach, in his supplemental training academy, Soccer Field Academy. With James and his academy it’s not just about getting touches. I’m working on seeing the field, making the right tactical decisions, and exploiting defenses.
You can also find me on a futsal court, especially during the winter months. For the last six years I’ve been playing futsal as a way to continue developing my individual skills in game-speed situations. I enjoy the nuances of futsal but I especially like how it helps to make the outdoor game slow down.
Looking for an edge against other kids in my age group, I’ve been doing speed classes to develop my quick muscles and strength classes just to be a well-rounded, stronger player for those games when I go up against bigger opponents.
Of course grades are a major focus too. I understand how important an athlete’s grades are for college coaches when they are considering athletes for their programs. I am currently an Honor Roll student with a 3.74 G.P.A.
Soccer is a big part of my life but I also enjoy music. I play the guitar, though not very well, I do enjoy it and I enjoy the challenge of getting better at it.
I want to thank you for taking the time to view my NCSA profile and if you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me.
