Dedication is the quality of being committed to a task or purpose. Dedication takes hard work and that is something that I am certainly no stranger to. My name is Tristen Rose, and I am a 18 year old with a true passion for the game of soccer. I play for the Internationals US Development Academy U18/19 team. I live in Cortland, Ohio and will graduate in the spring of 2021.
Three years ago, I had to make a huge decision. I had to decide if I would forgo the opportunity to play with my friends for my high school team in order to play USSDA. Not only did it mean leaving the premier club and team which I had been training with since I was 6 years old, but playing USSDA meant I would have a tremendous amount of driving ahead of me every night. The closest DA to me is in Medina, which is 1 hour and 15 minutes away without considering traffic. For me it was a very easy decision and the best decision I have ever made. I knew DA was the best option for me to train and become the best player I can be. Not everyone would drive 150 miles every night for practice. Not every teenager would put their social life aside to be able to train that far away every night. That takes a true commitment. I have dedicated almost my entire life to the game of soccer. It's what I enjoy doing above anything else. Despite the long commute every night, I have never missed a practice since I started DA.
When I don't have DA practice, I voluntarily pick up extra training sessions with our DA technical coach as often as I can. I get to the gym at least 4-5 nights per week to help me build my speed, strength, and agility. In addition, I spend countless hours each week training at home. If I am awake and not in school or work, you can guarantee there's a ball by my feet. My dedication outside of structured practices has helped me to become a very technical player. A few years ago, I won my age division at the US National Technical Challenge Championship. As you will see by reviewing my profile, I have a vast amount of regional, national, and even some international experience, all of which has helped me develop into the player I am.
Not only am I dedicated on the pitch, but my dedication in the classroom is just as strong. I am a 4.0 student at the top of my class. I challenge myself by taking the highest level honor classes available to me. This year, I am taking 4 college courses at my local university, Youngstown State. I take pride in my studies and truly want to learn, not just get the A.
I love the challenge of playing at the DA level though. I put everything I have into every training to get better at the game I love. I push myself to be the hardest worker out there, no matter if it's a practice, game, or scrimmage. I leave everything out there with no regrets. Every chance I get to play the game I love, I play like it's my last time playing.
If you would like to get to know me better to determine if I would be a great fit for your program, I would love the opportunity to talk to you.
