Kamran Tejumola '21 Recruiting Profile

I am a driven, technical and coachable player who is certain that collegiate athletics is the next step for my soccer career. I hold myself to a very high standard in all things and accordingly have achieved a GPA of 3.9 and an SAT score of 1410. I have been playing soccer since I was three years old and have loved the game ever since, having played in Europe, America and all across Canada in competitive matches.  

Thanks to those experiences, I have witnessed many different styles, played many positions and been in many situations the average collegiate player may never find himself in. As such I am much more resilient than the average player, something I believe is the core of a reliable defender. I have been playing against kids older than me for as long as I can remember and as such am no stranger to being the underdog, in fact, if one thing rings true about my mentality it is that I am relentlessly competitive.

As a defender, I am aggressive and dominant as well as particularly talented in 1v1 situations, to the point where my teammates often force players onto my side of the field aware that it is our best chance of winning back the ball. On the offensive side, I am a very free-flowing wingback, I attack whenever I can but try to avoid a strict pattern of overlaps, mixing solo runs, early crosses and underlaps to provide a more dynamic threat.

In summary, I believe I am a valuable addition to any collegiate team due to my resiliency, competitiveness, and dominance on the field. Thank you for taking the time to read my statement and I hope you will consider me for your organization.
