Santiago Frias '21 Recruiting Profile

I believe one of my greatest assets is my versatility, whether I am playing as a striker in a "target man" role or more recently as a center back distributing, controlling the game and leading the team from the back.  My size, technical ability, tactical awareness and vision allows me to play anywhere in the spine of the formation. I possess the discipline and work ethic to implement a rigorous plan to constantly improve myself mentally and physically within any program. I have also gained the confidence of my coaches and peers and I have been the designated captain of my team. I take this responsibility very seriously since it is a privilege and a duty to serve and to set the example. I understand that an important pathway for high-level soccer in North America is through collegiate sports. This path offers me the possibility to get a great education while playing soccer.  Because of this, I have been working very hard to achieve academic excellence where I have a 4.25 GPA while taking multiple Advanced Placement classes. All the points above demonstrate my commitment to achieving excellence in all of my endeavours, whether they be on the pitch or in the classroom.
