My name is Sajjan Gill and I am a Canadian student-athlete who plays soccer for Athlete Institute Football Club and is a part of White Oaks Secondary School's graduating class of 2022. First and foremost, I have always aspired to be a professional soccer player and would still love for those dreams to become a reality, however, if that does not work out I would need to make sure my education becomes the first priority. I have been in love with the sport of soccer since I was just a few years old and have dedicated myself to progressing my soccer knowledge and skills to the best of my ability. In 2017, my teammates and I won the Ontario Cup which made us the Provincial Champions. 2018 was a great year in terms of soccer and academics as I had trials in England with some of the finest teams in world soccer and I had also been my middle school valedictorian prior to receiving honours in my first year of high school.
Through playing soccer, I have learned to be resilient through tough moments as well as disciplined through all aspects of my life. Many of the values I have learned from playing soccer transfer to my academic achievements. My work rate continues to increase as challenges in my life begin to pile up, in spite of that, I am striving to aim higher than ever before in terms of my academic grades to ensure a career I am excited to pursue beyond college. My main academic goals for the future are to work as hard as I can and have grades at the top of my class in addition to managing my own time effectively. I am a hard worker as well as a team player so I will always put my best foot forward to advance my own skills along with helping out whoever I am working with. In my college experience, I really want to encounter every aspect of college life. I want to be a part of a strong soccer team and a school with a reputation for having good academic programs and athletic programs. College should be a fun and joyful time where I am academically challenged and playing the sport I love.
