My name is Gianni Bordieri, I'm in the class of 2024 and I am a student at De La Salle College “Oaklands” Toronto, Canada. I have been playing soccer at the academy level since the age of eight. I also played AAA baseball and competed in Taekwondo at the elite level up until Covid-19; I then decided to focus my efforts on my true passion, soccer. In 2022, I was presented with the soccer MVP award for my school team, as well as the Junior Athlete of the Year award. In 2023, I was honoured to be named captain of my school soccer team and I look forward to leading our talented team to another strong finish at OFSAA this year.
My current club team is Toronto Skillz u21 L1RO. League 1 Ontario serves as a stepping stone between high performance youth level and elite amatuer and professional levels of the game in Canada's largest province. I am proud to be one of the youngest players on my team. I am always striving to play at the highest level while challenging myself to achieve my personal best. I am a very versatile player, playing striker for my school, and outside back for my club.
I returned to Germany this summer for the second time, continuing my trials with multiple u19 and u23 clubs. My final tryout will be in March 2024. As I look to the future, I look forward to not only advancing my game, but also my education, as higher education is very important to me. I believe the United States offers great opportunities for me to do both.
