My name is Aiden Herd and I am a hardworking, mature, technical and team-focused player from Toronto, Canada. Born in 2008, I'm a key member of a high-performance, possession-based team (Dutch Connections F.C. 2008 Black) ranked #1 in Canada and in the top 50 across North America (Dec 2023).
I’m a skillful, pacey and positive winger/attacking midfielder, with the vision to play a variety of passes and the ability to impact games by scoring goals, providing assists and creating chances. In possession, I consistently demonstrate good decision making as to when to retain and recycle and when to exploit gaps and overloads by attacking defenders. Out of possession I help set the tone for the team by pressing aggressively, closing space and maintaining the team shape in different stages of the game.
During training and games, my goal is to be the hardest working player on and off the ball. I’m dedicated to improving all aspects of my game, so I put in extra work 1:1 with Strength & Conditioning and technical coaches. Overall, I’m highly coachable, adaptable and committed to listening and learning so that I can always improve.
My strong work ethic on the field is mirrored in the classroom where I consistently receive high marks, as well as positive evaluations of my character and learning habits. I'm committed to pursuing a career in soccer and believe that a university/college pathway will provide me with a strong foundation for academic and athletic success.
