Hi Coaches,
I play soccer for the Power FC Academy U20. A well-known and well-respected college soccer coach compared my style of play to the professional player Danny Welbeck, on Arsenal. I am fast and I play soccer with both my right and left feet. I started playing soccer when I was 2 years of age, and from the first time I stepped on the field I loved the sport. I have been through a lot during my experiences with soccer, for example, team changes, changes in coaches, changing teammates. I had to learn to showcase my talent and abilities no matter what. What I have learned is that your confidence has to be high. If you don't believe in yourself you won't go anywhere. There will be times you are nervous, but if you have your mind set on something, you will persevere and not give up. I have also learned that teamwork is needed for a team to play efficiently. Positive comments go a long way. If your teammate is having a tough game, something as simple as a pat on the back will give them an extra boost of confidence.
I have a female cousin that plays Rugby for the Canadian National Team at a Canadian University. Additionally, my uncle used to play Rep Ice Hockey for the City of Burlington, Ontario, and he also played on the ice hockey team at a Canadian University for four years. He now has a Ph. D. in Education, and he currently works for the Halton District School Board. My mother played softball, tennis, and soccer as a child. She has her Master’s degree and she is an elementary school principal.
My academic goals are to get A's in every class. I am looking forward to studying at university and getting a great education, while playing soccer competitively. I am positive, determined, athletic, very fast, versatile, and I make good decisions. I am a goal scorer, and I am great in 1-on-1 scenarios. I can finish, pass, dribble, head, and as mentioned earlier, although my right foot is dominant, I also use my left foot to kick and shoot the ball. I have been one of the top five goal scorers in the OPDL organization for multiple years, and I have been an Ontario Prospect at the Provincial Trials every year ever since the screening started for my age group in 2014. Finally, I am 100% committed to college/university soccer.
