Playing on the Varsity Soccer team when I was a Freshman was an extremely developmental year for me. Being that I was the only lower classman on the team playing with fourteen Juniors and three Seniors, meant that I had to step up to a completely new level. Throughout the first half of that season I was the 12th man, substituting for the first player who was fatigued or not playing well. My coach called me his "Joker card", meaning that he trusted me to step in wherever there was a need. I was able to play every position the first half of that season, allowing me to understand the game on a deeper level. This gave me the vision necessary to become an effective play maker and a visible leader on the field, which in due time bumped me up to a starting position at Defensive Center Mid for the second half of my Freshman season.
This past high school season as a Sophomore, I secured the Center Defensive Mid Position, playing nearly every minute of every game and was fortunate enough to be a part of an amazing team, winning first place in our Conference. I learned the degree of blood, sweat, and tears it takes to make an impact on a team, no matter how old you are. I would like to contribute to a program that suites me well, not only athletically, but one that also challenges me academically. I feel that the versatility, leadership skills, athleticism, and work-ethic I possess will prove to be a valuable contribution to a strong collegiate program.
