My name is Jamin Gogo Peters and I play for the U19 Portland Timbers Academy Team. I play winger (7 & 11), Forward (9), and attacking midfielder (8/10). My aspirations for college include continuing to hone my development as a soccer player and student, and furthering my professional soccer career. My passion for soccer started at age 4. I started playing for local Oregon club teams, and eventually qualified for the Oregon ODP program when I was nine. When I was eleven, I was recruited to the U14 Portland Timbers Academy Team under Coach Ryan Miller and have been playing for the Timbers Academy since. Being in the Academy has enabled me to travel all over the US, to Canada, and even to France, which helped in engaging my adaptability in different environments. In Spring 2021, I was blessed to be given the opportunity to participate in a preseason match against the Seattle Sounders with the Portland Timbers' First Team, as well as participate in multiple training sessions with them. This experience allowed me to have an idea of where I needed to be and inspired me to become an even better player. When it comes to academics, I have been able to maintain excellent grades and Honor Roll status throughout high school with coursework that includes Honors and AP classes. I currently have an unweighted GPA of 3.895 and I am a member of the National Honors Society. I was also involved in my school's Associated Student Body (ASB) as Freshman and Sophomore Vice-President. Then, in my Junior year, I transferred to an online school through the Academic Performance Center of the Portland Timbers Academy. I am truly grateful for what I have experienced in life, and I am looking forward to using my skills on and off the field to be an asset in the collegiate athletic environment.
