My name is Vincent Christian and I'm a senior at Sisters High School in Oregon with 14 years of soccer experience under my belt. I have played 8 years of club soccer. I currently play on the Bend FC Timbers 2005 Premier team. Pre-Covid I was invited to practice with the Timbers academy team at the training facility in Portland, Oregon, this stopped with the onset of Covid19. In July 2021, I was able to get onto the ODP squad (Olympic Development Program) to play in the Friendship Cup. My freshman year I was able to start on the varsity team!
This year in high school the coaches played me in the 10 and 9 position and made me captain. I was listed on the OSAA website for having some of the top statistics in the state for goals and assists! My final tally was 23 goals and 12 assists including a bicycle kick in a league game! I was also awarded player of the week on October 10th. I made 1st team all league and also was voted player of the year in 3A! My Junior year I scored 9 goals and made 12 assists making me the most distributive player on my high school team with the most assists held. I took almost all of the set pieces including pk's. My club season my Junior year I also had the top stats for most goals and assists combined. Throughout the years my coaches for both club and high school have played me in multiple positions depending on what the team needs. I'm very successful at most positions and understand the game very well and my coaches understand this.
Last year my goal was to play full back in college at a high level, but now I think playing more of an attacking mid would be great also. In club most recently I have playing as a winger. My set piece skills do separate me from other players which I would love to be able to do at the college level, in the Bend Premier Cup 2023, I made a 30 yard plus set piece. I can also play defense very well and this was noted by a coach from Gonzaga at an ID camp, he said I was one of the only players that could play both offense and defense successfully. This is why I still do like the full back position but I'm not totally set on it, depending on what the team needs. My main goal is to be placed on a high level college team where I can contribute to the success of the team. I have been a natural goal scorer all my life and have great stats to prove it.
I get very good grades and I'm wrapping up my last high school year doing a couple college level courses so I can get a honors diploma. I'm not decided on what I want to study yet, maybe sports medicine or business. I also aspire to play on the professional level some day, I'm constantly working to better myself in soccer. I have done other sports as well (lacrosse and snowboarding) making me a well-rounded athlete. Lacrosse helped me up my aggressiveness on the field and snowboarding improves my balance (terrain park) and stamina (backcountry). From being a humble person that always looks to improve my game to being a team player with lots of experience is part of why I am a great candidate and addition to the team. With both athletics and academics, I am a motivated, self-driven individual who strives to get things completed early so I have time to produce a result I'm proud of. I think this has helped me maintain a 3.9 GPA.
