I want to become a part of an Academic Community where I can continue to develop the skills needed to excel academically and athletically. I am currently interested in a medical services career. I am involved in my school community, Best Buddies International, and for my Junior and Senior years I will be involved in the Special Olympics Unified Sports Program.
I grew up as a multi-sport athlete, always wanting to play as many sports as my parents would allow. I’m also an avid golfer and was recruited by my high school coach but due to the common season with soccer, I was not able to play in high school. Soccer has become the sport I love and am dedicated to. On and off the field, I am patient and accepting of others strengths and weaknesses. I am always willing to be the first to step up and participate and I like helping others find their best qualities. I welcome and accept constructive criticism and am adaptable to different learning styles/situations. When challenged, I would like to think I rise to the occasion, and when given high expectations I work hard to meet those expectations. Throughout my years of playing sports, I have been knocked down, told I wasn’t good enough or didn’t have the skill needed. This has only made me fight even harder to get back up. I know I have areas of weakness but when brought to my attention, I want to work hard to overcome them.
I am excited at the possibility of continuing to play the sport I love at the collegiate level and using that opportunity to continue to develop skills that only a team sport can teach. I appreciate your willingness to look at my profile and the opportunity to potentially learn more about your program, while you learn more about me.
