Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Matthew Gomelko. I am a Junior at Greater Nanticoke Area High School, in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania. I am a Captain, and third-year starter on the Boys’ Varsity Soccer team, where I am primarily a defensive midfielder and center back.

I have been playing soccer since I was five years old. I enjoy the competitive nature of the sport, as well as its pace of play. In the positions I play, I understand the value of the role I play in helping our team find success. My goal is to compete a the collegiate level, while obtaining a top notch education. While yet undecided, I am most interested in pursuing studies in either sports medicine or marine biology.

In addition to soccer, I am a member of the boys volleyball team. In my spare time, I enjoy playing video games.
