Marcos Garcia '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Marcos Garcia and I started playing soccer at the age of 5 for the American Youth Soccer Organization. When I turned 10 I tried out and made a club team named HMMS which was more competitive. I played for HMMS for about 5 years then I transferred to the South Central PA Soccer Academy in the spring of 2013. While playing at HMMS I made it my goal to one day play college soccer. I am a 5'11/168 lb defender. I have played as Center Defender for the majority of my soccer career. My right foot is my dominant foot, but I play well with both feet. I have played on my high school varsity team since I was a freshman. I played Center Defender my whole freshman season and scored one goal. This past season as a sophomore I played in Center Midfield. Also this past season I managed to score five goals and assist on seven. This goes to show that I can also incorporate myself fairly well into the attack. I am constantly working hard to become a better player. I think the biggest highlight of my soccer career so far is having been chosen to become a member of the Talent Identification Program through the Eastern Development Program. The program's goal is to bring together the most promising players from the region of Connecticut - Virginia and have them train in a high level environment. I am open to all and any college offers. I would prefer to go to a college on the East Coast so I could be close to home but am open to any. I also want to attend a college that could help me financially as my father is my only parent employed. I hope you find me interesting and I hope you would help give me the opportunity of playing soccer at the next level while also receiving a quality education.
