Personal Statement

Being a student athlete at Baldwin High School alone sets its own challenges. Our soccer program consists of a highly competitive Quad A section with most teams recognizing Baldwin as the “underdogs.” Both my Freshman and Sophomore years have ended with close calls to becoming a playoff team, yet ended short, urging a reality check that expectations need to be higher and more sacrifices are needed to be made. Through extreme pain, perseverance, determination, and sacrifice, I was able to accomplish a high school dream while being the third highest goalscorer with four goals and making the playoffs that have not been achieved in seven consecutive years. However, it all began at the age of five, which guided me to the person I am today; someone who always seeks the most.

I began playing the beautiful sport of soccer at the age of five for Baldwin’s recreational league along with playing baseball for GBWAA which lasted 4 years. Later with certainty, I realized that baseball was a hobby and not something that I wanted to pursue, which led me to leave baseball and focus on my love for soccer. Two years later I joined the Baldwin travel and then at the age of twelve I was fortunate to have my first offer to join a club team by the name of Pittsburgh Football Club. I originally joined the team as a forward which brought me to question if I should quit my dream or work hard until something worked out. During a tournament, the coach asked me to drop back into the backline where I earned a starting spot as a center back and eventually an outside back. Here I learned leadership, commitment, competitiveness, heart, and that it takes adaptation to be the best. I later sought more and joined Beadling FC in 2018 where I now continue to look towards the next level. I want a college that can match a high competitive atmosphere both in athletics and academic focus in the fields of engineering and business. Being a well experienced player, I know for sure that I have what it takes to be on your team.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
