Ever since I stepped on a soccer field when I was three years old I knew that it was the sport for me. I have played club soccer all my life and trained with coaches from all levels. I recently took half of a year off from club soccer to focus on school and re-evaluate my future in the sport. After much discussion with my coaches and parents I decided to return to the sport and pursue by dream of playing soccer at the collegiate level.
What makes me different from other recruits is my academic abilities. I attend a co-ed college preparatory boarding school. As a junior I take 3 AP and 2 honors classes. I play on my high school varsity soccer team, was awarded first team all conference (Mid-Atlantic Prep League), and was voted captain for the 2019 season. I also play on my high school varsity basketball team and we recently won the state championship. My 5 years of training with the Philadelphia Union Junior’s program sets me apart from other recruits. I left the program because I wanted to attend boarding school and play soccer for my high school.
Playing club soccer allows me to play a high level to continue improving to pursue playing at the collegiate level. I have played every position, including goalie, depending on the needs of the team. I feel most comfortable at the center back position, but I like to get forward in the attack and win 50-50 balls in the air. I play forward for my high school team, a position I was unfamiliar with, but adapted to quickly. In the past 5 years our team made it to the state championship game 5 times, winning 3 of them.
I want to attend a school where I can be pushed in the classroom and on the field. I want to find the college that is right for me where I can succeed and form great relationships with my coaches, peers, teammates, and professors.
