Joseph Varano '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Joey Varano. I am a 2026 Goalkeeper. I live just north of Philadelphia, and play club soccer for FC Delco’s U19 MLS Next Academy Division  team. I am also the starting GK for Faith Christian Academy, Varsity. 

I have a very strong work ethic and determination. I have had to persevere through many challenges,  and have developed a strong mentality and internal motivation for success. I am not afraid to compete. I have a strong ability to analyze my performance, identify my strengths and weaknesses, and correct mistakes. I set goals for myself, and work until I achieve them. My goalkeeper strengths include navigating 1v1 situations, decision-making under pressure, excellent ball handling, coming off my line aggressively, and my ability to read the field, and adjust my play. 

First and foremost - I am a TEAM player! My coaches describe me as dedicated, focused, humble, coachable, and a positive-minded leader.  In addition, my development has been on an upward climb.   I am still growing physically, and see myself as having a lot of potential over the next several years! 

I take opportunities to challenge myself - athletically and academically. I have learned many lessons through soccer, that will help me to be successful in all areas of life.

I am interested in business, for academic studies. I am looking for a collegiate environment where I can make a difference on and off the field, help build camaraderie, and contribute to the success of the team.
