Ian Marcos Rodriguez Cruz '22 Recruiting Profile

I have grown up in a family with good values and I emphasize my personality.  I am a player with a lot of experience in  Spanish football and I am not afraid of anything.  I am a very loyal person and I will always fight for my friends and for the people I love.  My goal is to graduate as a veterinarian and provide my family a better life, although I do not rule out becoming a professional soccer player.    Since I was a young kid I have stood out a lot in the academic side since I have always been a high honours student and I belong to the National Honor Society. I belong to the soccer and track and field teams  of my high school and I have won several championships in both disciplines. I have played 3 times in Spain in the division of honor categories (best division in academies).  On one of my trips to Spain, I had the opportunity to play the Ibercup in Barcelona and my team reached the quarterfinals.  At the beginning of 2020, I made my debut in the elite under 20 category of Puerto Rico at 15 years old. In the spring of 2021, being in the eleventh grade, a top college in Puerto Rico gave me the opportunity to train and play friendly matches with them even though I don’t belong to it. I am currently training hard to continue improving as a player and continue doing what I like the most.
