Jonathan Bedard '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello everyone,   

I introduce myself, Jonathan Bedard player for St-Andrews school in Rhode Island for the last two years as a center defender.  During this period, I started every game (2021,2022) and won a NEPSAC championship and final four the following year.  I loved my experience and I learned a lot during my time with the Saints where I became a more complete person and involved myself within the student and community.  As such, I was the junior recipient of the Rhode Island Civic Leadership Award for an international student.  It was a nice recognition that I want to replicate for the next level.  Despite my Preps cycle which will end in June, my development continues to progress and I am at the level of living a new experience at the college level allowing me to choose my future career and sports within your program.  This is why my choice will be according to my school discipline and your high-level sports program.  My sports history is very extensive having been a multi-sport athlete playing AAAD1 varsity football in Canada as well as varsity basketball simultaneously.  Despite my athletic skills, I chose soccer as my first choice having an interesting prototype for my position as a center defender.  In soccer, I have always been an outclassed defender against the best in the elite league LSEQ soccer Quebec with the Rapides de Chaudière-Ouest.  As such, at 13 I played at the U15AAA level, at 14 the U16AAA etc and today with the Saints of St-Andrews and FC Bruno United in the Rhode Island league.  

My choice of study remains the field of spoken and written communication as specified in my profile previously.  I consider myself a committed individual who puts his priorities in the right place.  On a sporting level, my playing profile resembles that of Liverpool's Virgil Van Dick.  The last two years, I was on the first star team of the NEPSAC league and the collective successes have always prevailed over the individual by accomplishing several goals and assists for my team.  I am very happy to participate in this process and I am looking for programs that will be the best fit for me.
