My dad was always a big fan of soccer, he played for many years. As I watched soccer with him growing up, my love for the sport began to grow. We still watch soccer together on tv and on the field, watching my sister play. Over the years I’ve learned that I'm a talented soccer player, can kick with either foot, and that I can play any position. I've had multiple coaches over the years tell me that I'm a very coachable person.
Last December, I was playing around on my bike, decided to jump it off the front porch, hit a slick spot and ended up lying on the ground. The damage was done. Due to the injury, I was not able to play sports for four months. Even though I wasn’t allowed to attend practice, I attended every game. Coach recruited me to record the games. It hurt my heart to watch my team go 5-6. I should have been on the field helping them. I worked diligently to rehab myself back to 100% and was able to play the last game of the season. I was finally able to join my team on the field. In the Fall, I played with my travel soccer team and was even recruited to be the kicker for my high school football team.
As my love for soccer continues to flourish, I will devote myself to conditioning for this soccer season. I can’t wait to join my teammates on the field.
