Samuel Smith '20 Recruiting Profile

I have never been the most vocal person on all of my teams, but I am always mentioned by my coaches as having the best work ethic of any of my teammates.  My attitude and hard work in practice, speaks louder than my voice on the field.  I am the consummate team player and understand that my "role" isn't just a position on the field, but whatever it takes to help my team.  I am a physical player on the field and am able to think two steps ahead of my competition.  I am a member of Beta Club, National Honor Society and have a near perfect GPA and even more than the physical side of soccer, I love the tactical side of soccer probably more.  Whether it is shielding a defender, pressing forward, blindside runs to pull defenders away from play, offensive alignments or line breaking passes, the strategy is some of the most exciting parts of the game for me.  No one will ever outthink me on the field.  Strategy can break down the best players and teams and in that sense, I am a very coachable player that loves to learn.  Thank you very much for your interest and consideration.
