Keeling Kennedy H...Personal Statement
I am a high school junior in Signal Mountain, Tenn. My graduation year is 2020.
I play club soccer for Premiere Soccer Academy in Chattanooga, Tenn., one of the Top 10 rated U-17 teams in Tennessee last year. I was a defensive starter on a team that went 12-1-2. We competed in five tournaments last fall and winter and finished first or second in all of them.
I’m 16 years old and have been playing club soccer since I was 8. I was one of three sophomores on my high school varsity team last year at Signal Mountain. We finished runner up in the Tennessee state tournament in Division 1-A. There are more than 70 teams in our division. I was a reserve behind two 6-5 seniors.
I’m 6-0 and 155 pounds, and I’m still growing some. I play defender and defensive mid-fielder. In addition to soccer, I have competitive in cross-country, baseball and travel lacrosse. I won the top award for school soccer in middle school and won several countywide cross-country races in Chattanooga when I was younger.
I have attached some video highlights taken last fall at various tournaments. In most of the videos I was 15 or had just turned 16 — I have a late October birthday.
I would very much like to know of any ID camps or events that you have on your calendar in coming months. I will be visiting colleges with my parents through the year and would love to be able to meet you in person sometime to learn more about your program and to get on your radar.
