Peyton Smith '25 Recruiting Profile

Every coach I've ever had has called me coachable. I work hard, listen, take direction, make adjustments, and don't complain. Working hard and being coachable takes you far, but you also need skill and athleticism. My greatest skills include explosive speed, extraordinary field vision, excellent footwork, and strategic passing. I'm most dangerous when I'm just outside of the goal, waiting for a cross or rebound so I can sneak in and take my shot or make a key pass. I'm also known for outrunning the defense to create one on one opportunities on goal.

I train hard, not only in soccer, but also in cross country for endurance and track & field for speed. My 40-yard dash time is 4.74 seconds, although that time was from over a year ago, so I'm probably faster now. Additionally, I lift weights and do daily stretching exercises and plyometrics. I also work hard in school, taking multiple AP and honors classes and maintaining an overall A average, as well as participating in Math Club, French Club, Leo Club, and PTSA. I believe it's important to be a well rounded athlete.

One of my favorite things about playing soccer is the team spirit and camaraderie. I love being part of a team and cheering on my teammates when they score a goal, steal a ball, or make a good pass or save, just like they do for me. We support each other when someone makes a mistake or we have a bad game, and we talk each other up. Soccer is a team sport, and the best teams are the ones that work together. I love being part of a team, and I possess a positive, easy going attitude that boosts team morale both on and off the field.

Professional soccer player Pelé once said, "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do." I love soccer, and I'm ready to work hard in order to be successful and help my team win!
